Can you guess who the guest blogger is?

Ray, this one is for you. Jordan had a great race today at the Velodrome. He finished fourth overall in the C race and first in the younger juniors...Sweet (do I sound like Jordan now, he told me I have to use his language if I'm going to be a guest, but I refuse to use his poor grammar and spelling!!!!) I wish I could have made it to the race, I went last year and it was a great time. Instead, I went to the Gopher/Michigan football game. Boy, what a disappointment. The most fun we had at the game was eating sunflower seeds and people watching, better luck next week against Wisconsin. I'm going to go to the Lake Rebecca race tomorrow and cheer everyone on. Let's hope the sun comes out!! It wouldn't surprise me if Jordan doesn't let me be his guest blogger after this post, he is going to be sooooo pissed when he sees that I posted the picture of him from third grade. Oh well, such is life!! (P.S., Ray and Debbie, I miss seeing you at the races, and isn't Helga adorable!?!)

Afton and Green Acres.

Green Acres was flippin' cold but had a cool course. In my race on the first lap I hit a barrier and bent my left shift lever pretty bad. In the end I got second with caleb from the hudson race about 30 seconds ahead of me.The A race was beastly and Doug won by about 2 minutes with Dewey behind him. Smithers had a nasty crash that looked really really bad but he was OK. Lindsey has been doing cross for a few weeks now and she is improving a ton at each race. She also has a good cookie recipe.

You can just barely see the bend in my lever

Got ready on Saturday with just a skinsuit and hoped it would warm up. We got there and what do you know it did right before my race. The start of my race got a little screwed up because on the90 degeree turn about 5-10 people went kind of straight. I was the first person not to turn but my back wheel got hit and I did a little driftin'. I was fine and had to work hard to stay away form the group but at the end it was a sprint between my and Adam Kobel and I just beat him. The Cat 3 was fun to watch because Chazzel Dazzel was on the front until he crashed and drifted back a little. The A race was wicked fast and everone looked fast. Dewey ended up winning and Pattycakes still got top 10 after his 21 birthday.Brian Koneman also showed up and did the A race on his brand new TREK X2 with a sweet-o white stem.

Twine Ball and Wirth

No pictures yet. This weekends races were saweet. Twine ball was cool. The course was cool and there were plenty of people in my race. I figured out to start before the offical bolws the whistle. I was first to the u turn followed by Conrad Roberts and super fast single speed guy John Gorilla. All 3 of us were together for about 1 lap and then I got dropped and John ended up winning Conrad got 2 and I got third.

Wirth was pretty cool. Ther were 103 people in my field so the start was important. I started good and was in the top 10 until a barrier when my seat got caught on my skn suit and my bike crashed into the barrier but i just stumbled but my chain fell off. After I got it back on Nils was right behind me and man is he strong I had to work so hard to get away from him. So in the end I got 19 overall and won the juinors.

John Page's Planet Bike Cup

Went to the race planning on doing the juinors and 3s race. I had the same result in the juniors except Arisotle ripped almost his whole finger nail off OUCH. In the 3s race I got 25 out of like 50 with Jason a few places ahead of me and Super Rookie just a few spots back. Too bad Chazzle Dazzle wasn't there he would have LOVED the course. The elite race looke imposs again with Page and Wells of the front and Page winning in a sprint. Bijorn being the beast he is beat Tim Johnson and got 5.

Super Rookie Schzoling me in the 3s race.

Catching Thompson in the juniors race.

Going up to the run up after the turn.

Me going around a turn.

John Page's Planet Bike Cup

Going throug the finish.

The only barriers on the course.

This race was super awsome for me because it was kind of like a crit and cyclo cross race and I thought it was really fun. My race went pretty wells and I won. The elite race looked imposs and John Page totally pushed it and broke away. Bijorn totaly killed it and ended up getting 3 behind Page and the Swiss guy.
Dan Casper got attacked by a tree and still got 5 in his cat.

TIME shoes and peadal review

I want to start by thanking Smithers and Time for some awsome road and cyclocross shoes and peadals.

First the road shoe review. Very comfy and amazingly stiff sole. I like how there are velcro and buckle straps. Super cool matieral called lorica the is what I would call leathers athletic bro. Shoe don't get hot in races and don't get cold when it rains.

Now the road pedals. Super light and just enough float to help you on hills and sprints but not enough to screw up your peadal stroke. The float is also kind of spring loaded so your foot goes back where it was. It was kind of hard to get clipped in at crits so had to get soft springs. Overall out of Shimono, speedplay, and TIME,TIME take the cake by a long shot because of its larger platform that really helps when you stand up.
I'll review cyclocross Quip after Natz:)

First Day Back To School

Woke up early to go to school just the same as last year. I did almost nothing for the first 90 minutes of the day until my first foreign language class which was American sign language. It sounded kind of interesting and it turns out the teacher has a deaf child who goes to the school for the deaf by S1. After that class I went to my math class and my whole class is filled with skate borders, gossip girls, and only like two of my friends. After lunch I had family consumer ed. I guess all we do in that class is cook and sew so it should be pretty easy. My last class of the day was science which sounds like the coolest class because there are only 4 units. They are earth science, micro-macro, chemistry, and the human body. This year sounds like it will be pretty cool.

Sprinters Classic and Stanley TT

Jake and I at the Stanley TT.

Jake and I at the Sprinters Classic RR

On Saturday I decided to do the 15-18 race. When we started we decided to take it easy until mile 10 so we did. at mile 10 I kind of attacked and got a small gap. When I got caught we all worked together and at the 1000 meter sign I started to go 100% and we all stayed together with Benn taking 1 me 2 and Aaron 3 with Sam in 4. My max heart rate was 208 and my average was 165.

In the younger juniors race I wanted to get Jake the win so at the first turn we took off and got a large gap. I let him draft me until the finish where I went hard at the 1000 meter sign and told Jake to go at the 200 meter sign.

On we went to the Stanley TT and it was wicked windy. In the end I got 1 in the 10-13 and Jake got 1 in the 14-19. Ian won overall with Lance Niles in 2 by 10 seconds.

Da Hamel TT

Result frome the 10-18 race.

LSC went 1,2 in the juniors 10-14 with Dan from MNJRC 3 by a small margin and Ryan Shaw in 4 by another small margin.

Dan is like 41 and he still got 3 today and 13 at nationals.

Doug won belive it or not.

I raced at 9:10 so I didn't have to wake up too early. When I got on the trainer and tried to shift into the small ring and it wouldn't go. It turned out that I did something to my cable so I did't have a small ring for the race. When I started I discovered that my magnet wasn't working so I didn't haved any stuff to go by. When I finished I wasn't very happy but I still beat my goal of improving on last years time

We kept going and Red Lantern got all but three primes. I how ever got the Victoria prime. Then we got back had some burgers, smores, and ,smellows.

Northfield Crit

Results from the Juniors races.

The uphill corner.

My race was at 10:45 so it was'nt that early. When my race started Alex Meyer a 15-18 junior went hard right away and dropped me for a while until I caught up to the older juniors group and then right away got dropped. After theat I just kept going hard until Aaron caught up to me and stayed behind me for a while until he had some difficultys and I dropped him. On the second to last lap I just about got lapped but just finished in front of the Tony Olson.

St.Cloud Crit

P-Slim flexin' his guns

Pete Hanna flexin' his guns.

The wicked fast 1,2 race.

This race was wicked awesome. The juniors race was at 8:45 so we had to wake up really early. When my race started I got clipped in wickedly fast and started going fast right away and I went to the front. I was on the front for all but the last lap. How the race ended for the younger juniors was I got first,Jake Mittelstaedt got Second, and Ryan Shaw got third. My whole family stuck around to corner marshall. The Mens 1,2 race was wicked fast and Adam Bergman and Patty Cakes ended up lapping the entire field and Adam ended up with the amazing win. The Masters 35+ race was cool to watch. John Bagley started an early break away but eventually got caught by the group. Then a little later in the race Ray Coyle and Pete Maxwell broke away and Matt Muyres bridged up and they stayed away till the finish and Pete out sprinted Ray and Matt for the win and Jay Woller won the field sprint and got fourth.

Square Lake Road Race

This is how it all went down. All of the juniors lined up way early because that is how we roll. While I was waiting there I was talking with Aaron Shaw. We were talking about how we raced in the same category last year at this race. After that we started the neutral rollout which was at an awesome pace for all of the juniors. When we started for real I took off just to make the pace fast. We kept racing until we got to that uber scary downhill right before the big hill. A 15-18 junior named Travis got a small gap before the downhill and kept it for a while. So on the way down the hill I was on the brakes a lot and when we turned right the group brought the pace up to catch Travis. Right before the turn up the big hill we caught him. I lead into the corner and attacked super hard the whole way up and eventually got a super small gap. I slowly made the gap larger until Benn Hulbert bridged up to and pulled me to the final corner where he right away dropped me and gained about 25-50 meters until the finish. Benn still had to do another lap because he was an older junior so I turned around after the finish line to see the sprint between my teammate Jake and Ryan Shaw when all of a sudden I see Dan another younger junior get a 20 meter gap and take 2. The sprint between Jake and Ryan Was uber fast and intense but Ryan just got Jake before the line for 3 which made Jake 4.

Townie Ridin'

That was uber hard. That hill felt way longer than it was.
